Head of Workplace and Real Estate

This role leads Workplace & Real Estate Operations for Zoom’s global sites, ensuring they are safe, efficient, compliant, and aligned with business needs. The position manages the end-to-end delivery of workplace programs, operational standards, vendor relationships, and site-specific services, while also driving real estate strategy, portfolio planning, and lease negotiations to create a high-performing, employee-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Real Estate Strategy & Transactions

  • Develop and execute a global real estate strategy aligned to business growth, workforce planning, and budget objectives.

  • Lead portfolio planning, including site selection, expansion, consolidation, and decommissioning.

  • Negotiate leases, renewals, and terminations to optimize cost, flexibility, and operational needs.

  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic real estate decisions.

  • Manage broker relationships and oversee market analysis for site planning.

  • Oversee space planning, workplace design standards, and alignment to employee experience goals.

  • Lead site moves, openings, and closures, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Workplace Operations

  • Oversee daily operations for all global offices, including maintenance, janitorial, repairs, and vendor management.

  • Manage health, safety, and environmental (EHS) programs, including fire drills, compliance audits, ergonomics, and risk assessments.

  • Lead global badging programs, access control systems, and security coordination.

  • Oversee energy monitoring, sustainability programs, and biophilia standards.

  • Manage workplace services and amenities, including food/snack programs, parking, mailroom, couriers, office supplies, and the new hire work-from-home equipment program.

  • Oversee internal AV operations and digital signage management.

  • Own workplace and real estate budgets, forecasts, and reporting.

  • Manage asset inventory, global shipping, business continuity planning, and operational readiness.

  • Partner cross-functionally on company events, operational support for leadership programs, and strategic workplace initiatives.

Requirements

  • Required to be onsite at HQ 4 days/week.

  • 15+ years in workplace operations, facilities management, or corporate real estate, ideally in a global environment.

  • Proven experience managing multi-site operations and diverse vendor portfolios.

  • Strong knowledge of safety, compliance, and EHS regulations.

  • Excellent project management and budget oversight skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across global teams.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Min: $260,000

Max: $310,000

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
