Position: DevOps Engineer

** Ideal candidate must be in West Coast, Mountain, or Central time Zone to be considered for the role **

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help operate Zoom's complex high traffic, business critical internet site communications and/or network-based (cloud) product systems. We’re a small but mighty team that supports different services on the Zoom platform. Known as the Meeting Ops team, looking to add a well-seasoned professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. The ideal candidate will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors and demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

What you'll do:

• Use various Develop tools to automate the deployment and eliminate manual tasks

• Responsible for maintenance and monitoring of many network systems and services.

• Collaborate with development teams to enhance and improve system stability and availability

• Conduct tests of network redundancy, resilience, and failover of network elements to ensure up-time SLA are fully achieved.

• Expected to participate in periodic on-call rotation coverage with other department employees. Also referred to as Site Reliability Engineer.

• Must be available to work nights/weekends for application releases/deployments/troubleshooting (regular occurrence)

What you'll have:

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

• Strong proficient with cloud computing platform like Amazon AWS / EC2 / EKS / S3 / DynamoDB / ElasticCache

• Strong proficiency with Python and Shell scripting

• Strong proficiency with Ansible and Terraform automation tools

• Strong proficient with Nginx+ deployment and troubleshooting

• Docker/Kubernetes/Container Services administration required

• Strong automation mindset and a passion for root cause analysis and strategies to mitigate issues

• Experience installing, configuring, and monitoring Linux system administration skills

• Experience with performance tuning and debugging scalability issues of real time servers and applications

Bonus points:

• AWS Elasticsearch / Kafka / Lambda

• Google Cloud or Azure experience a plus

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
