About You:

We are looking for experienced engineers who understand AI systems, and are excited about becoming global leaders in a completely novel field, and work independently as part of a small team.

Beyond your technical prowess, we are looking for a creative spark, an ability to think in first principles, and a desire to push the envelope. Challenges excite you, and the idea of turning a fantastical concept — an personal AI assistant like JARVIS from science fiction — into reality resonates with your ambitions. Your passion for AI isn't just about advancing the technology, but about leveraging it to craft a better, more efficient, and more intuitive future for all of humanity.

You will be responsible for building the industry’s first consumer AI Agent product that will be used by millions. You’ll also help forge the foundation of our company’s engineering team and company culture.

We are a small team passionate about AI technology, research, design and the extraordinary things we can build when we combine them. We’re also fun, collaborative, and have meaningful lives outside of work.

This role is ideal for someone who possesses deep expertise in creating large models, RL and autonomous systems.

Responsibilities:

• Innovate at the bleeding edge of AI & Agents and moving them to production and solving challenges on long-term memory, reliability, planning, reasoning, actions & embodied AI
• Lead and implement the latest research ideas and ship them to production, focusing on areas beneficial to our AI agent.
• Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to transform your research into tangible solutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, especially around large language models, fine-tuning techniques, and reinforcement learning.
• Employ rigorous testing and iterative improvement processes to optimize the performance and accuracy of machine learning models.
• Deliver high-quality work at a fast pace, understanding the importance of time and speed in a startup environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in machine learning model development, with expertise in PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow.
• Demonstrated capability to independently lead research projects with end-to-end responsibility.
• Previous experience in AI research is required. This likely involves a history of publishing research at top conferences.
• Deep understanding of systems engineering with a focus on building scalable solutions for large-scale data processing and model training.
• Solid understanding and experience working with large Transformer models, such as GPT or LlaMA.
• Expertise in fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, and prompt-engineering techniques.
• Experience in working with multimodal or vision models.
• Ability to communicate complex research findings in a clear and impactful manner.
• A knack for solving problems creatively and effectively.
